[IT] Il mito e la tradizione millenaria del fuoco di Santa Lucia narrata attraverso gli occhi e le gesta degli adolescenti sulle rive dello Jonio. Crotone, piccola cittadina del sud Italia. Ogni 13 Dicembre sullo sfondo silenzioso del mare, gruppi di ragazzi onorano la tradizione dei fuochi di Santa Lucia costruendo e facendo ardere delle maestose piramidi di legno con l’intento di restituire la LUX alla Santa nel giorno a lei dedicato. A muovere la narrazione, i ragazzi del quartiere “Fondo Gesù” che nelle loro giornate, per le vie della città alla ricerca della legna, fanno i conti con i loro problemi personali. Chi è alle prese con un padre in carcere, chi da poco lo ha perso o chi non lo ha mai conosciuto. Ragazzi che all’età di 15 anni si ritrovano ad essere padri di famiglia e che insieme si riuniscono come fratelli nel perseguire un unico obiettivo: realizzare la struttura più alta e imponente della città.

[EN]The myth and millenary tradition of the fires of Saint Lucy through the eyes and the deeds of a group of teenagers on the shores of the Ionian Sea. Crotone is a small town in the South of Italy. Every year, on December 13th, groups of teenagers gather on the local shore to honor the tradition of the fires of Saint Lucy by building and burning majestic wooden pyramids to give light to the blind Saint, on the day dedicated to her. We follow the boys of the “Fondo Gesù” neighbourhood while searching the streets for wood and dealing with their personal issues. Someone is struggling with their father in prison, someone else has recently lost or has never known him. Some others have already become fathers at the age of 15 and need to provide for their families. That night, they come together as brothers in pursuing the same goal: to build the highest and most impressive structure of the city.

STORIA DI UNA DONNA CHE AMAVA SUO FIGLIO – Short Film 2014

In seguito alla perdita del suo primogenito, il dolore trasforma la vita di Francesca in un vero incubo, segnata da continui rimandi al passato. Molto spesso, infatti, la madre perde il contatto con la realtà, ritrovandosi in scenari già vissuti, ed è proprio quando Francesca crede di essere guarita da questa sua “follia” capirà che la sua vita sarà segnata per sempre.

Following the loss of his son, the pain transforms life of Francesca in a real nightmare, a suffered existence marked by continuous returns to the past. In fact, the women often loses contact with the real world finding herself to relive older moments, and that’s when Francesca believed to be healed of his “madness” will understand that his life will be marked forever.

[IT] “Amal” è un uomo burbero e silenzioso rimasto solo al mondo. Decide di trascorrere la sua esistenza ai margini del villaggio impiegando tutto il suo tempo ad aggiustare una vecchia auto che ha trasformato in un’abitazione. Il ricordo della perdita della donna amata continua a tormentare la sua mente. Lasciare tutto e partire alla ricerca di un posto dove poter ricominciare, sembra l’unica soluzione per l’uomo. Ma ben presto, capirà che l’unico viaggio da compiere è dentro sé stesso.

[EN] “Amal” is a quite and crusty man who remained alone in the world. He decides to spend its existence in the outskirts of the village by fixing an old car that he turned into his own house. The memory of his wife loss continues to haunt his mind. The only solution is to abandon everything for a new place where to start a new life. Soon, he will realize that the only journey to make is within himself.

AMARE AFFONDO – short film 2018

[IT] Giacomo e Samuele sono due giovani ragazzi nati e cresciuti in una piccola provincia del sud Italia, in un ambiente dalla mentalità chiusa. La forte amicizia che nasce tra i due non impiega troppo a trasformarsi in qualcosa di più. Due giovani colpevoli solo del loro amore che riescono a tenere in vita la loro relazione segreta, con la promessa di scappar via e poter urlare al mondo il loro forte sentimento. Ma un giorno qualcosa va storto. A causa di un brutto incidente, successo sull’imbarcazione da pesca di Giacomo, i due diventano doppiamente colpevoli e si ritrovano, da un momento all’altro, a prendere una decisone difficile che li obbligherà a scappare dalla loro terra.

[EN] Giacomo and Samuele are two young boys born and raised in a small province of southern Italy, in a closed-minded environment. The strong friendship that is born between the two does not take too long to be transformed into something more. Two young people guilty only of their love that they manage to keep alive their secret relationship, with the promise of running away and being able to scream to the world their strong sentiment. But one day something goes wrong. Because of a bad accident, happened on the fishing boat of Giacomo, the two become doubly guilty and find themselves, at any moment, to take a hard decision that will force them to escape from their land.
